I'm Michael, Founder of Tinytecture and Subject Coordinator, Senior Tutor, and Studio Leader, within the Masters of Architecture (M.Arch) and Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs at the Melbourne School of Design (MSD) at the University of Melbourne.
Tinytecture is a set design and model making company, combining years of experience in model making and architectural design, with a love of cinematography and set design. Recently, we were tasked with creating a viral marketing campaign with Butterbar for SoFi which hit over 3.5 million views in a fortnight.
Studio Fable is a Masters of Architecture design studio taught at the MSD which explores the future of technology within architecture. Combining rigorous research with narrative-driven design, students are tasked with researching current issues related to the advancement of technology within the built environment and developing speculative proposals which aim to address these problems.
In my role within the B.Des course, I develop and deliver content for a variety of subjects. This ranges from digital design and fabrication using laser cutting, CNC and 3D printing technology, algorithmic design through visual scripting and procedural modelling, to virtual reality and rendering through 3DS Max, VRay and Unreal Engine.
